Sovereign is a personal AI that runs on your iPhone — your journal, your tasks, your knowledge graph, and a coach that learns from your own words. None of it leaves your device unless you say so. Even if it did, we couldn't read it.
Why this exists
Every "AI assistant" on the market today reads your data. It is the business model. You write something private — a worry, a half-formed idea, a personal goal — and it goes to a server somewhere, gets logged, gets used to train the next model, and sometimes gets seen by a human reviewer.
We thought that was a strange trade. The most useful kind of AI is the one that knows you well. But the most personal kind of data is the one you least want a stranger to read.
Sovereign resolves that tension by inverting the architecture: the AI runs on the device that already knows you. Your iPhone. Nothing leaves the phone unless you turn on encrypted sync — and even then, we hold no keys.
What it is
Sovereign is six tools in one app, all of them powered by an on-device LLM (Gemma):
- A journal with a voice-first "Daily Chat" — talk about your day, the AI structures it into a proper entry and pulls out tasks and events you mentioned.
- A note app that auto-tags, embeds, and links every capture into a knowledge graph you can visualize.
- A task system with calendar integration, reminders, and AI-suggested follow-ups.
- A document scanner with on-device OCR — every scan gets summarized and linked into your graph.
- A reflection coach — chat with curated personas (Marcus Aurelius, Socratic coach, your older self, more) for free-form thinking.
- A growth tracker — define a skill you want to grow, and the AI auto-attributes your notes, tasks, and journal entries to it as evidence of progress, then coaches you using your own words.
